This is a rare vintage religious medal. It is a commemorative medal celebrating the 1400th anniversary of Saint Gregory as well as the official crowning of the famous statue in Marsat in 1939. The image of Saint Gregory is surrounded with the words “Saint Gregory of Tours 539-1939”. The reverse shows the statue of the Black Madonna of Marsat with Christ in her lap and a crown hovering above her head. Surrounding them is the French “Our Lady of Marsat Pray for Us May 1939”.

This is a wonderful vintage religious pin. It depicts Saint Anthony the Great, also known as Saint Anthony of the Desert. He is shown with a large halo above his monk’s hood and carrying a staff.
Saint Anthony (circa 251- 356) is the most well known of the Desert Fathers and is considered the founder of monasticism. Saint Athanasius, his friend and biographer, wrote "Anthony was not known for his writings nor for his worldly wisdom, nor for any art, but simply for his reverence toward God." His feast day is January 17.
