This is a beautiful example of mid century religious art. It is an elegant image of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding a young Christ in her arms. The pair are shown nearly cheek to cheek with their beautiful halo overlapping.
We believe this pewter, although there is no makers mark. The metal sculpture is set against a cream colored background in a wooden frame. Unique.
This is a vintage publication on Catholic teaching. It is a booklet that discusses the Catholic arguments against contraception. It is presented in the format of the Baltimore Catechism with questions put forth followed by the Church’s answers. This was published in 1949 well before the encyclical Humanae Vitae (Pope Paul VI, 1968) proving that this is a long-standing church teaching.
This is a wonderful antique explanation of Catholic teaching. The Catechism of the Council of Trent, also known as the Roman Catechism, produced in 1566 is the oldest summary of the doctrines and teachings of the Catholic Church. This edition includes the entire Roman Catechism with helpful side-bar notations.

This is a fantastic in-depth history of a religious convent. Also known as the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, the convent was founded by Mother Mary Xavier Mehegan in 1859. The Sisters of Charity established the College of Saint Elizabeth, which was the first four-year women's college in New Jersey, as well as parish schools, academies, hospitals, a day nursery, orphanages, a home for the incurably ill, and a residence for working women.
This boxed set consists of 3 volumes in excellent, like-new condition.
This is a wonderful devotional book. It is a complete history of veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mother.
Original blurb for this book:
The Book of Mary might well be subtitled "The Quest for the Historical Mother of Jesus," for this book is a great author's search for all that is known, from the testimony of contemporaries, ancient texts and later interpretations, about the life and days of "the most appealing of all figures in the Gospels," the woman chosen to be the Mother of Christ.
Complete in content, beautifully designed and illustrated, the book deals with all the recorded facts about Mary, based primarily on the relatively few occasions in which she is written about in the New Testament by Matthew, Luke and John, and the many occasions in which she appears in early post-Biblical writings. Further, The Book of Mary reproduced actual apocryphal and pseudo-epigraphical texts, little known to the average reader, making it a definite study covering material relatively untouched in any other popular work, and presenting its glowing subject, as one advance reader said, "succinctly, clearly and authoritatively."
