This is a superb example of devotional art popular in France in the 1800s. This particular piece is an intricately carved scene of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding a young Christ in her lap. The artist’s skill is evident in the fine detail he included in the elaborately carved chair; Our Lady’s hair and beautiful robes; and the expressions on both faces. It is framed in painted wood with a domed glass cover.
Please note: The material used in carvings from this period is often mistakenly referred to as Meerschaum, but most are actually made of French pipeclay.
Condition: There is a repaired crack on one side of the carving. Please see pictures.

This is a gorgeous vintage rosary. The beads are delicate ovals made of luminous mother of pearl. The centerpiece is hexagonal with an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in profile. The crucifix is very elegant and includes roses carved into the cross behind the corpus. “France” is printed on the reverse of the crucifix.
This is a beautiful pair of vintage earrings. Both earrings are an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a flowing veil under a delicate halo. Each cameo is hand carved and therefore one of a kind. These are screw backed and marked as 1/20 12k gold filled.
