This is a remarkable set of vintage religious bookends. The image depicts a scene of Saint Joan of Arc preparing for battle. She is shown wearing full armor, standing next to her horse, and carrying a flag. Both pieces have been painted with rich but subtle colors. “Jeanne d’ Arc” is inscribed at the base of each piece.
This is a fantastic vintage icon. It is an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary as she appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico, 1531. The Madonna is shown with her head slightly bowed and her hands clasped in prayer.
This piece has a wooden base while the icon is a print with a heavy silvered metal overlay.
Condition: The hanger is bent. Please see pictures.
This is a beautiful example of mid century religious art. It is an elegant image of the Blessed Virgin Mary holding a young Christ in her arms. The pair are shown nearly cheek to cheek with their beautiful halo overlapping.
We believe this pewter, although there is no makers mark. The metal sculpture is set against a cream colored background in a wooden frame. Unique.
This is a magnificent vintage print. It is the interior of the Church of St. Baron in Ghent, Belgium. The stunning high altar is the focal point with light streaming through upper windows illuminating the statuary and side altars. A man is shown kneeling in prayer in the foreground. Wonderful.
This is a stunning vintage station likely once used in a church. The scene shows Jesus on His knees while Simon the Cyrenian helps lift some of the weight. Behind Simon is a member of the Sanhedrin wearing rich robes and jewels. He is pointing at Simon forcing him to help Our Lord.
The colors of the lithograph are still vibrant particularly Christ’s Halo and red robes.
Please Note: There is no protective glass and the both the frame and lithograph have a few scratches. The most noticeable scratch is along Christ’s hand. The roman numeral for this station is also missing. Please See Pictures.
