This is a unique large crucifix. Our Lord is shown stretched tight against the cross. Behind him is a stylized sunburst representing God and heavenly glory. The cross is a rich brown, and the corpus is painted gold.
This is a very early faux wood product, similar to Barwood and Syroco Wood, dating to the first half of the century. The reverse is lined with purple felt and has the original metallic sticker which reads “Patented, Pardon Cross Corp. Chicago, Ill., Price $8.00”.
Condition: There is a crack in the sunburst that does not show in the front. Please see pictures.
