This is a remarkable example of religious folk art. Our Lord’s corpus is formed of intricately woven straw and hung on a crude wooden cross. Amazing.
Straw art, also known as popote or popotillo art, has a long tradition in Mexico. Local grasses are used to create straw paintings and figures. The 1930’s and 40’s saw a resurgence in the popularity of this art form.

This is a gorgeous vintage rosary. The beads are delicate ovals made of luminous mother of pearl. The centerpiece is hexagonal with an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in profile. The crucifix is very elegant and includes roses carved into the cross behind the corpus. “France” is printed on the reverse of the crucifix.
This is a beautiful pair of vintage earrings. Both earrings are an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a flowing veil under a delicate halo. Each cameo is hand carved and therefore one of a kind. These are screw backed and marked as 1/20 12k gold filled.
