This is a hand-carved vintage statue of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. The Blessed Virgin Mary is shown as she was seen in Saint Bernadette’s vision. She is standing on a cloud with roses on each foot. The Madonna is gazing toward Heaven, her hands folded in prayer, with a large rosary over one arm. This is a beautiful piece with a rich, lustrous brown finish.
The Lourdes apparitions:
On February 11, 1858, a 14-year-old girl named Bernadette Soubirous witnessed the first of 18 visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at a grotto near Lourdes, France. Soubirous described the lady as wearing a white dress, an equally white veil, a blue belt, and a yellow rose on each foot. Across her arm she carried a rosary.
In her messages at Lourdes, Our Lady announced that she is the Immaculate Conception, and she stressed the need for penance and for prayer for sinners.
Condition: There are a few chips at the front on the base. This could be easily refinished. Please see pictures.

This is a gorgeous vintage rosary. The beads are delicate ovals made of luminous mother of pearl. The centerpiece is hexagonal with an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in profile. The crucifix is very elegant and includes roses carved into the cross behind the corpus. “France” is printed on the reverse of the crucifix.
This is a beautiful canivet lace holy card, likely from the late 1800s. It is a black & white lithograph of Saint Mathilde wearing a crown while holding a crucifix in one hand and a miniature cathedral in the other.
Although she was a queen with wealth and power, Saint Mathilde was known for her piety and generosity. Much of her wealth was spent in building churches and founding religious monasteries and convents. Saint Matilda is the patron saint of disappointing children, large families, falsely accused persons, people ridiculed for their piety, queens, second marriages, and widows.
This card is likely of German origin as it was found with other antique German holy cards.
This is a gorgeous antique holy card that shows a young Christ wearing long robes and a beautiful halo. Our Lord is holding an arrow-pierced heart and a dove in His arms with roses and lilies in the background. These symbolize respectively: His Sacred Heart, peace, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and purity. “Oh how sweet it is to live for Jesus” is written in French above the image while “Lord Give you rest” is printed beneath. The reverse has a beautiful French prayer.
